"Auf Mungo's Hifi ft. Brother Culture folgt Pandit Pran Nath, dann Tonye Et Son Groupe Wenaw, anschließend Pterodactyl. Dann kommen Da Dancehall Massive und Istari Lasterfahrer. Wer das ist? Keine Ahnung. So steht es auf dem Cover dieses Doppel-Albums. Da hätte aber auch sonst etwas stehen können. Eine solche Platte kauft man nicht, weil darauf etwas zu hören ist, was man eh schon kennt. Genau das Gegenteil ist der Fall: Man gönnt sie sich wegen des Menschen, der sie zusammengestellt hat, und der Art, wie das geschehen ist. In diesem Fall war das die holländische DJ Marcelle, die einzig legitime Nachfolgerin des legendären John Peel. Auch bei Marcelles Platten, in ihren Radiosendungen und vor allem, wenn sie in Clubs wie dem Hamburger Pudel, dem Berliner Supamolly oder dem Kölner Blue Shell auflegt, gehen Dinge zusammen, von denen man vorher nicht einmal ahnte, dass es sie gibt. Auf Dubstep folgt Polka, auf Punk Progrock, auf Dub Avant-Jazz und Highlife. Alles geht. Miteinander, nebeneinander, ineinader. Stößt sich voneinander ab, findet wieder zueinander. Das Ganze ein großartiges Durcheinander. Musik als eine mehrdimensionale Angelegenheit, als ein Versprechen von der großen Freiheit. Alles kann funktionieren."

Marcelle is a guide, an arrow and a red,yellow & green friendly cloud. Marcelle is a lot of love and an eye-ear for all of us to learn more, feel more, enjoy ourselves in all new territories and moments. This album opens with wave sounds, water, sun and sea ( I almost see a pink velour jogging outfit soon taken off for a more Jamaican tiny sport short, more muscles and forces, more density ). Of course coming from the Netherlands did offer Marcelle the sound of its multi-origins people and music. Just like for me Paris, the real one, is Alger, Bamako, Dakar, Bombay, Ankara, Tangier, Odessa, Tel Aviv, Kingston, Moscow, Saint-Louis, Brazzaville, Beijing and Osaka. We both couldn't live nor imagine a life in a single culture, tradition, tastes and language. But Marcelle must deeply and on many levels embody all these different music in order to rearrange them for us in such a natural blend. Like when one decides to cook for you, feeding others is a both side acceptance of the other. Marcelle s audio movies are an incredible intelligent, sensual and sharp statement, the kind of approach that takes you by the shoulder, another sign of humanity here. Beautiful.
