Seit Anfang Januar könnt Ihr jeden Freitag von 12 bis 14 Uhr und auch fast jeden Montag von 6 bis 8 Uhr endlich wieder neue Folgen von Solid Steel hören! Und damit nicht genug: Ab sofort gibts die Sessions schon sieben Tage nach der Ausstrahlung in London bei uns!
Heute wieder, zur Zelebrierung des 20. Geburtstags von Solid Steel, eine "Classic Edition". In Stunde zwei heisst es daher mit einem Mix von Coldcut und Juan Atkins "Back to '88". Mehr über diesen Vintage-Mix, den wir etwas gekürzt spielen müssen, könnt Ihr unter http://www.bosbos.net lesen, dort lässt sich dieser auch downloaden. Eigentlich komisch, da spielen wir aus Geldmangel zwei Jahre lang alte Solid Steel-Folgen und ein paar Wochen nachdem wir dank Spenden wieder neue senden können fängt Solid Steel itself damit an... Der Mix lohnt aber dennoch. Und in der ersten Stunde hören wir ausserdem noch einen ganz neuen Mix, und zwar von Boom Monk Ben.

Into hour two and its another dip into the Solid Steel archive. We go back to where it all began, a tape cassette recording from 1988 when KISS FM was still a pirate station. At this point Matt Black and Jon More had joined forces by combining their separate shows - The 'Matt Black Mastermix Party' and Jon's 'Meltdown' in what was to become Solid Steel. The tracklist is unavailable, but expect to hear Johnny Pate, the Theme from News at Ten, acid house from Sleazy D, an interview with Techno legend Juan Atkins, plus tape hiss and adverts for record shops and club nights from the time.
